play it forward, pay it back.
We believe community is built by remembering why we chose Nyack as our home and consistently contributing to the values that make us βusβ through acts of service, acts of joy, and direct investment in the doers that lift our community up.
what defines a community?
we believe itβs the shared values that unite us. Do we believe in ensuring equitable access to quality after-school programs and food? do we provide safety and support for families when it's most needed? If these principles resonate with us, we invest in them. In that spirit, Play collaborates with local organizations united in this mission, supporting their operations by donating a percentage of all proceeds.

The Nyack Center
Programs
Founded in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens, the Nyack Center is housed in a renovated historic church in the heart of Nyack, NY. The mission of the Nyack Center is to create connections across social, cultural and economic boundaries, and to improve the lives of all in Nyack and the larger community of Rockland County. We are dedicated to antiracist action and committed to work to dismantle all forms of oppression. We learn and grow through our differences as we seek a more compassionate society together.
Our center reaches over 2,000 people each year, by providing programs, facilities, and opportunities for service. We offer programs that nurture children, teens and families, and provide space for others with similar goals

Center for Safety & Change
Shelter
For more than 40 years, Center for Safety & Change has worked tirelessly with victims, survivors and their family members, offering life-saving and life-changing programs and services to thousands in Rockland and beyond. On October 5, 1979, we opened the doors to our Emergency Shelter and waited for the rotary phone to ring. The first day, we filled 11 beds and on the second day we filled the remaining four. Since then, the phones have not stopped ringing.
Today, our shelter remains a safe haven for thousands of children and families. From Rockland Family Shelter to Center for Safety & Change, our agency has grown into our name, as the only victim-centered non-profit organization in Rockland, offering free and confidential life-changing programs and services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other crimes.
