How do you set your pricing?
Most items have been set at 50% of the original retail price. Some items have been priced more substantially reduced because they are more well-worn or were a hand-me-down. Pricing is also based on market research of comparable upcycling companies, factoring in labor. As much as possible we have indicated what the original (or comparable by brand / item) price is so you can see the cost calculation.
do you do returns?
As this is a side, purpose-driven business venture, we do not currently have the bandwidth to process returns. As we are aiming for a primarily locally driven model, we encourage customers to pick up items in person and inspect before leaving to ensure you are 100% happy with your purchase.
what if i can’t do a weekend pick up?
We’ve created an easy to use online scheduling feature with windows for pick up on most weekend morning. If for some reason that is impossible or you urgently need your item for time-sensitive event, we will happily see if we can accommodate. Just email us carin@playnyack.com!
do you buy clothes?
Maybe! At this time we are assessing if this model is sustainable to operate; if there is demand we would be interested to expand to purchasing items, based on demand for certain brands / products and condition. Stay tuned via our newsletter for announcements of this expansion!
